Who is Baba Vanga?

Baba Vanga (January 31, 1911 – August 11, 1996), born Vangelia Pandeva Gushterova, was a Bulgarian blind mystic, herbalist, and alleged clairvoyant. She lost her sight at age 12 during a tornado, after which she reportedly gained the ability to foresee the future.

Throughout her long life, Vanga left numerous prophecies about humanity's future, spanning from the near future to the year 5079 — her predicted date for the end of the world. Her predictions cover natural disasters, wars, technological revolutions, space exploration, and the evolution of human civilization.

Some of Vanga's predictions have been confirmed by real events, including the 9/11 attacks, the Kursk submarine disaster, and Obama's presidency. She is often called the 'Bulgarian Nostradamus'. This site compiles 71 of her prophecies and evaluates those whose deadlines have passed.
