Who is Aleister Crowley?
Aleister Crowley (October 12, 1875 – December 1, 1947) was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, and mountaineer, dubbed 'the wickedest man in the world'. He founded the religion of Thelema, whose central tenet is 'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law'.
In April 1904 in Cairo, Egypt, Crowley claimed to receive dictation from a supernatural entity called Aiwass, producing The Book of the Law (Liber AL vel Legis). The book proclaimed the end of the old aeon (Aeon of Osiris) and the dawn of a new aeon (Aeon of Horus) — an age emphasizing individual will, freedom, and self-realization.
Crowley's writings contain numerous prophetic descriptions of humanity's trajectory, covering the decline of old religions, sexual liberation, war and destruction, and the rise of individualism. This site compiles his most representative prophetic texts and evaluates those whose deadlines have passed.
